BC Cancer is looking for a Medical Oncologist to join its Trail Satellite Clinic team, operated by BC Cancer - Kelowna and located in British Columbia's Interior in the West Kootenay Region. Physicians at the Trail Clinic are eligible to participate in the province's Rural Retention Program , which pays benefits to physicians working in specific rural communities that are considered isolated.

Reporting to the Department Head of Medical Oncology located at BC Cancer - Kelowna, the Medical Oncologist will be part of a well-established team in Trail, and more broadly, within the provincial structure for oncology care. You will use your extensive experience and qualifications to provide oncology consultation, patient care, teaching, and research, and participate in case discussions through the provincial tumour group support and tumour board conferences. This clinic offers cutting edge therapy in a personalized practice environment, and has support from general practitioners specially trained in oncology and chemotherapy delivery. A future goal is to extend clinical trial participation to this site, once a team of medical oncologists is in place.

As the successful candidate, you will have obtained, or are working towards, Fellowship standing in the Royal College of Physicians & Surgeons of Canada in Internal Medicine, along with a certificate of Special Competence in Medical Oncology. You must also be eligible for licensing with the College of Physicians & Surgeons of British Columbia and meet the requirements of credentialing by the Medical Advisory Committee of BC Cancer. In addition, applicants must be eligible for a clinical appointment in the Division of Medical Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and for appointment to the Medical Staff at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
