Medical Office Assistant
Job Description
Job Title: Medical Office Assistant. 32-40 hours per week.
Position Summary:
Working with a team of MOAs, RN, NPs and FPs in a community medical clinic providing primary care. Each member of our team plays an important role in the health and well-being of our patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Each member of our team has a defined role and responsibilities. We report to each other at a monthly full office meeting and we each report to the physician Medical Director oversees the clinic. Our common goal is to provide quality patient care in a healthy work environment.
Answers phone lines, managing multiple calls at one time Coordinates patient care by making reminder calls, checking in, and communicating clinic policies Books appointments and procedures as per practitioner booking guidelines Maintains electronic medical record, including the patient chart Uses Meditech for updated contact info, demographics, new results Ensures patient confidentiality Takes payments and issues receipts for non-insured services Calls patients for follow up or to advise of results or other information as instructed Completes opening and/or closing duties including making coffee, setting up wait room, and organizing paperwork Answers enquiries and/or takes messages over the phone and in person in a helpful, respectful and efficient manner Operates general office equipment including fax machine and scanner Provides office team task support including processing paperwork, sending letters to patients, and setting/completing monthly interventions Completes daily tasks in order of priority Adheres to Employee Manual guidelines and COVID protocols Performs all other related clinical, administrative or special tasks as required
Required attributes for all clinic jobs: Proficient at using Profile (training to be provided) Thrives in a fast-paced, team environment Ability to multitask and problem solve effectively Excellent customer service skills A positive attitude and strong communication skills Organized and detail oriented Reliable and professional Education/Experience:
Knowledge of medical office procedures Familiarity with electronic medical records Previous reception experience
Hours and Compensation:
Starting range $19-25 per hour dependent on training and experience. 32-40 hours per week.
