What is the Lower Columbia Initiative Corporation?
The LCIC is the regional economic development organization that drives economic growth in the “Lower Columbia” sub‐region of the West Kootenay (Trail, Rossland, Fruitvale, Warfield, Montrose and Regional Districts Area A & B). The LCIC assists existing business and industry to maintain a healthy economic climate, while identifying and pursuing new economic opportunities (www.lcic.ca). The LCIC is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Lower Columbia Community Development Team Society which is a volunteer organization providing development services to all Lower Columbia communities through the activities of committees who engage in a wide variety of projects (www.lccdts.com).
What is the role of the Administrative Assistant?
The Marketing Assistant (MA) is responsible for assisting the administrative assistant with marketing related activities. In addition to general office administration duties, the Marketing Assistant will conduct organization communications, collect and analyze data, create content and upkeep the website, and assist other staff.
General reception activities
Event logistics and organization
Maintenance of social media platforms including content creation
Upkeep of LCIC, Metal Tech Alley, and LCCDTS websites, including writing blog posts
Data collection and report creation
Regular newsletter creation and distribution
Other duties as assigned
- Post‐secondary education in a related field such as marketing or business.
- Research or marketing experience considered an asset
Skills & Experience:
Must be competent and comfortable using a wide variety of computer programs include MS Office and Google applications
Must have experience using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Instagram
- Preference will be given to those who have used social media for business
Knowledge of Wordpress considered an asset
Knowledge of Canva, MailChimp and/or Hootsuite considered an asset
Must have superior written communication skills
Ability to work independently (via projects) and as part of a team
Demonstrates ability to understand and interpret data accurately and effectively
