A flexible work arrangement may be available. This is a temporary opportunity until March 31, 2023, which may be extended. A permanent appointment may result from this temporary appointment. The Public Guardian and Trustee of British Columbia (PGT) is an independent statutory corporation sole, and acts under provincial legislation to protect the legal rights and interests of children, vulnerable adults and deceased and missing persons.
The PGT serves approximately 26,000 clients with 277 funded positions and is responsible for managing over $1 billion dollars of private citizens’ assets. This temporary position is new for the PGT and if the pilot is successful, may become permanent. Job Requirements: In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field; and 3 years of related strategic human resource/organization development experience in a large, complex organization. An equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered.
• Related experience must include:
Experience providing strategic advice to executives and senior managers; analyzing workforce and work environment issues and trends; building or implementing diversity, inclusion or reconciliation human resource programs. Research and reporting development; and/or developing and implementing plans, programs, and initiatives, preferably in a HR environment. Facilitating presentations, seminars, and learning & development opportunities to large groups of varied staff. Experience interpreting, applying and provide advice to clients or senior leadership on collective agreements, HR policy and labour relations issues. Experience with recruitment, succession management and management of staffing activities.
Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:
Experience using PeopleSoft Experience working in an HR role in an unionized environment CPHR designation Experience working directly with Indigenous Nations, communities, and/or organizations Experience related to the promotion and implementation of inclusion and diversity Persons who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations status or non-status, Inuit and/or Métis), LGBTQ2S+, a Person with a Disability, and/or a Visible Minority, with the required combination of education and experience
