We’re currently seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Manager to join our team.

You will be responsible for the day-to-day property and facilities management of the Credit Union’s leased and owned properties. This includes the preparation of tenders and specifications, contracting and project management, as well as maintenance, structural and infrastructure projects, space planning, office renovations, and providing full property and facilities management services for all of the Credit Union’s properties.

In addition, you will provide oversight for Kootenay Savings’ ergonomic program by ensuring that employee ergonomic concerns and needs are responded to, ensuring appropriate and timely assessment of employee workspaces and the implementation of recommended modifications or equipment to support ergonomic needs. As such, training and experience in this area, or a willingness to undertake relevant training will be required.

We are looking for someone with:

• A minimum of 8 years’ experience with facilities and space planning, including experience with construction budgeting and estimating and proven experience as a general contractor on commercial building projects

• Experience in directing and leading individuals and teams in construction and building environments

• Strong project management skills

• Solid understanding of WorkSafe health and safety regulations, policies and best practices

• Knowledge of building maintenance and repair methods and requirements

• Strong understanding of mechanical equipment, air conditioning, refrigeration, fire systems, stand-by emergency power, water treatment systems and related preventative maintenance programs

• Strong computer skills and experience with work order programs

• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with internal and external customers and establish and maintain professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients and the public

• Demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop sound solutions

• Ability to follow-through, assume responsibility and use good judgment

• Ability to establish priorities and maintain professionalism under emergency and crisis situations

• Must be detail oriented and exhibit strong organizational and time management skills

• CAD design program experience and training as an in-house ergonomist is an asset
