Maintenance Scheduling Lead
Reporting to the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Superintendent, the Maintenance Scheduling Lead supervises and leads the Maintenance Schedulers (8-10) across the Trail Operation. The Maintenance Scheduling Lead is a subject matter expert on the Teck Work Control Process and must understand the concept of “Doing the right work at the right time for the right reasons.”
The Maintenance Scheduling Lead works to align the individual maintenance schedules of each area between the different Plants, Support Groups, Shutdown Team, and IPPC to achieve business objectives.
The Maintenance Scheduling Lead will ensure the Maintenance Schedulers are trained and competent in scheduling techniques, work control process, and are proficient in the use of the CMMS. They will ensure the Schedulers follow the scheduling process as per the Teck R&M manual.
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Effectively provide leadership and supervision to a team of trained specialists to do scheduling Be a subject matter expert on the Teck Work Control Process Integrate individual area maintenance schedules to incorporate site wide activities such as maintenance outages, turnarounds, and major maintenance scheduling by integrating with IPPC Identify and coordinate the delivery of scheduler development coaching and training Ensuring integrated scheduling between plants and service groups Ensure the 13-week scheduling process is being utilized as intended across all areas Conduct frequent assessments to verify proper use of Scheduling tools and meetings and produce gap assessments, closure plans Own and manage the site wide maintenance outage schedule including coordination to update the site wide outage schedule, sending weekly updates out and work with schedulers to coordinate their area maintenance schedules to actively align with the site wide outage schedule Analyze key performance indicators for maintenance scheduling, ensuring alignment with Trail Operations’ overall plan Provide vacation relief for Maintenance Planning and Scheduling Superintendent as required Performs other related duties as required
5 years relevant maintenance experience Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in an industrialized environment Minimum 3 years of experience working with CMMS (Computerized maintenance management system) Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to plan and organize resources and activities Ability to find effective solutions to problems and adjust quickly to changing priorities Ability to see broad perspective of both short range and long-range maintenance issues Basic typing skills and experience with the Microsoft Office® package, especially Outlook, Word and Excel, are necessary. A proven team player and able to work well in a multi-tasking, fast-paced environment Knowledge and understanding of Teck’s Reliability and Maintenance processes and manual would be an asset Interprovincial Journeyman Certificate or a Mechanical Engineering Degree or other related degree would be an asset
