Job Description

We are currently looking for a Industrial Safety Coordinator to join our team.

Under direction of management, the industrial safety coordinator will be responsible for providing support to management, supervisors, and workers. This position will provide leadership and coordination of the day-to-day safety requirements of the operation.

Implement, maintain, review, and administer the company’s health and safety program to a minimum of WorkSafeBC standards for all departments including the office and shop areas. Liaise with contractors to verify that all safe work procedure are adequate and that all legislative and safety requirements are being observed and adhered to. Conduct regular site inspections and internal audits to examine site activities and confirm processes are compliant with legislative and safety requirements. Ensure corrective and preventative actions are established and implemented. Facilitate all JOHS meetings and assist with follow-up and corrective actions. Plan, coordinate, and conduct regular and emergency safety meetings as required. Fall protection equipment inspection and monitoring. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, including equipment and processes Conduct incident investigations & reports as per regulations In conjunction with the Operations Manager, liaise with WorkSafeBC and workers to coordinate injury recovery and graduated return to work plans. Use incident statistics to coordinate the safety program for injury / incident prevention. Liaise with supervisors on a weekly basis, ensuring all documentation and processes are compliant within company and regulatory policies. Organize and schedule training for supervisors and JOHS committee members. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

3-5 years’ experience in the administration of policies and legislative compliance Experience in safety or a related field preferably in a manufacturing environment Diploma in an accredited Occupational Health and Safety certification program REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Comprehensive knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation combined with training in hazard recognition, assessment, and control Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work with team members and management personnel in a collaborative environment Self-starting proactive individual who can work well independently and in a team environment Transparency in dealing with others, high level of integrity and work ethic Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $59,500.00-$68,000.00 per year
