If you like meaningful work, a dynamic environment and forward-thinking colleagues, build your career with us. You’ll get opportunities to grow, lead, solve, and create. So what are you waiting for? Let’s rethink energy together.

Position Overview You believe in building strong partnerships through open and honest dialogue, and you are convinced that people drive the success of any company. With the values and skills you bring, you’d make a great fit as a Human Resources (HR) Business Partner.

Joining our HR department, you will be the focal point connecting HR to our leaders to align our business decisions with our people.

You’ll bring your natural ability to coach our leaders on how to listen, understand and resolve employee relations issues with an employee-centric approach. Your collaborative approach and excellent communications skills will help guide our teams on continually growing our employee engagement through supportive and positive interactions.

We've solidified our commitment to sustainability with our 30BY30 promise to reduce our customer's emissions by 30 per cent by the year 2030. We need top talent, including yourself, to help us achieve our goal. Join us in rethinking our energy future.

In year 1, you will: • Work with the HR department to understand and deliver value-added services to management and employees that reflect our business values and objectives. • Build open and honest partnerships with our leaders, employees and union representatives. • Understand the business while integrating HR strategies, policies and processes aligning with HR efforts with business goals. • Identify barriers to success and facilitate positive change in people management.

In year 2, you will: • Strategize our big-picture approach to grow our overall performance and growth by engaging our employees. • Continue to collaborate with your client group to offer the best solutions and programs to our employees. • Partner with business leaders to advise on HR strategies focused on labour relations, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement.

What it takes: • A diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, such as business administration or human resources, and a minimum of five years of human resources experience in a unionized environment. Certification as a Human Resources Professional (CHRP) is preferred. • A demonstrated understanding of labour laws, HR policies and processes. • Incredible communication skills and an ability to make genuine connections with every interaction. • Confident negotiation and conflict resolution skills to bridge the best interest of all parties involved. • A balanced and tactful approach to respecting confidentiality and disclosure as needed, as well as the requirements of collective agreements.

Our engaging workplace offers a wide range of challenging opportunities, while being safe, inclusive and diverse. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, while supporting life-long career development. We also encourage volunteerism and nourish the need to give back to your community.

Safety is our number one priority, and to maintain the health and safety of our employees and broader communities, we have a number of COVID-19 safety measures in place. This includes a requirement for all new employees to provide proof of full vaccination, prior to their first day of work or the start of their employment. And of course, we will consider an accommodation for anyone who’s unable to be vaccinated due to a protected ground as defined by the Human Rights Code.
