GFL Environmental is looking for a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Trail, British Columbia!

Key Responsibilities
• Safely operate, repair, rebuild and perform maintenance on Company owned or leased heavy duty diesel trucks and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair operational difficulties with heavy duty trucks and equipment.
• Working knowledge with multiple equipment not limited to CAT, Hitachi, Skid Steers etc.
• Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas and electrically operated equipment and vehicles. (CNG training provided)
• Experience with engine drive, train structure, welding, hydraulics & electrical malfunctions.
• Experience with diagnostics for large Yellow Iron equipment.
• Basic computer skills preferred.
• Utilize a variety of power and hand tools and equipment.
• Possess, provide and maintain tools necessary to perform tasks related to maintenance on heavy/hydraulic equipment.
• Is reliable, responsible for your work & have the right attitude to perform assigned tasks.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested by management.
Requirements
• Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic
• Class 3 License (Class 1 license with Air considered an asset) OR willingness to get GFL sponsored license
• Experience in mining and/or construction equipment repair & maintenance preferred
• Basic tool set required
• Good to have inspection license / CDL preferred
• Experience using diagnostic software
• Must be computer literate, can be trained on software systems and have the willingness to learn.
