Health & Safety Co-ordinator

Here at KC Recycling, based out of Trail BC, we are expanding our operations and are looking for a new coordinator to join us! The Health & Safety Coordinator, coordinates and implements the Health and Safety program to ensure our workforce operates in a safe, healthy, and accident-free environment in compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards. The position is a hands-on, on your feet job, working with our operators to understand risks and implement solutions.
Support the development of an H&S culture with all managers / employees Support the development of a H&S Management System Advises, collaborates, and supports managers regarding related strategical H&S initiatives, programs and procedures Perform regular inspections of workplaces and work practices to ensure compliance Supports the development of a risk register Assists in investigations and development of corrective actions Participate and collaborate with regulatory and third parties for inspections or investigations, etc. Compile and submit incident reports Oversee the administration of the WorkSafeBC program to reduce employee lost time and follow-up of the Injury Management / Return to Work program Plans and performs internal trainings sessions and monitor completion of mandatory H&S trainings Track and report on various H&S metrics and key performance indicators Conduct orientation session for new hires and participate in on-boarding activities as required Support the rollout of corporate/H&S programs, policies, and other initiatives Performs all other related tasks related to his duties. Participates in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee Meetings. Requirements:
Familiar with the Federal and BC regulations (WorkSafeBC) 2-3 years of related work experience in an industrial environment preferred Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills Good computer skills and familiar with MS Office Diploma or certificate in Health & Safety, or equivalent experience (NCSO, etc.) OFA 3 preferred Expected start date: 2021-12-01
