
Head Treatment Plant Operator - City of Castlegar
Job Description
Responsible for operating the City’s water and wastewater facilities. Plans and coordinates the regular maintenance and testing along with directing work and training Treatment Plant Operators.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant Manager of Utilities, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the City's water and wastewater facilities to deliver safe water and treat municipal wastewater. Monitors the operation of lift stations, pumping stations and reservoirs on a regular basis using SCADA. This position is also responsible for assigning work and training the Treatment Crew.
This role will be responsible for ensuring all monthly reports and records are kept up to date and leads and maintains the department’s specific safety requirements.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have Class 3 Wastewater Treatment and/or Class 2 Water Treatment Certificate, to EOCP standards accompanied by several years of municipal work experience in the operations, maintenance, repair of wastewater and water equipment.
This is a CUPE 2262 position offering $38.68 per/hr plus premiums for each EOCP Certification, and an attractive benefits package.
