The RDKB is currently seeking applications for the Environmental Communications and Programs Coordinator. This posting is to cover for a permanent employee on a leave of absence. This is a benefitted, full‐time position, initially for a 1 year contract with the possibility of extension.

The Environmental Communications and Programs Coordinator ensures the ongoing development and delivery of public communications and education to support a broad variety of environmental programs throughout the RDKB. This position also works closely with the Environmental Services team as a conduit to ensure coordinated delivery of services, education and operations. Reporting to the General Manager of Environmental Services, the successful candidate will be involved in developing policies, project work, reporting, procurement and contract administration. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive, team work attitude to all they do, with the goal of supportive effective service delivery to residents throughout the Regional District.

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

Degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Communications or similar At least 3 years relevant experience, ideally in solid waste management and/or a government setting Local government service delivery and waste management practices experience Considerable experience in project development and campaigns An equivalent combination of qualification and experience will be considered Valid BC Class 5 Drivers license
