Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, BC, is actively seeking a self-directed, motivated, reliable, and flexible Electrician to join our dedicated team. About the Role:
As an Electrician at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital, you will perform skilled electrical work at the journeyman level. This includes installation, construction, alteration, repairing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and servicing of electrical and electronic equipment and systems in compliance with applicable codes and regulations. You will review work requests, consult with user departments regarding specifications and project requirements, interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the required materials and equipment, and estimate project costs. Additionally, you will prepare for work projects by performing operational and safety risk assessments, arranging work schedules with user departments, and assembling supplies, tools, and equipment.
Position Information:
This is a casual opportunity, meaning there are no guaranteed hours, and work requirements may vary from 0 to 37.5 hours per week on Monday to Friday day shifts. Casual employment includes short-notice, on-call availability, workload coverage during temporary absences, and/or providing relief coverage in a specific position. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings, including permanent part-time or full-time positions. Qualifications
• Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Electrician recognized by the Province of British Columbia.
• Two (2) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Must have a B.C. Class B Field Safety Representative Certificate.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License required.
