Position Overview

The Dispatch Coordinator supports & schedules field personnel and coordinates the administration of the work management tool, its orders, worker timelines and work management tool maintenance. This position also provides administrative support to Managers, Supervisors and department personnel.

A Dispatch Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager, Control Center.

Responsibilities Assist in planned and unplanned operations, maintenance and construction work requirements on a daily basis. Coordinate the work management tool and related request forms, including changes and upgades. Identify quality improvement initiatives for dispatch processes and all field orders to proper personnel. Coordinate external customer approvals as necessary for completion of work (i.e. high loads, service upgrades, electrical permits, etc.). Support to field personnel through the use of the work management tool, including; dispatch orders timelines and crew scheduling for all of the service territory. Under the direction of the supervisors and managers, and in conjunction with crew leaders, prepare work schedules. Create Dispatch Operations service work. Manage and enter data associated with work/dispatch order management. Provide coaching and training to Trail Contact center, System Control Centre, other dispatch areas and Power Line Technicians as needed to ensure consistent direction and process adoption. Responsible for Miscellaneous Accounts Recovery (MAR), invoicing customers for revenue. Responsible for various dispatch reports; order volumes, operating metrics, etc. Responsible for various Operational GTS requests. Identify monthly trends in dispatch and make recommendations to resolve the issues. Requirements

Grade 12 Diploma. Diploma in business, logistics and/or distribution Minimum 2 years Electrical Utility experience preferred Demonstrated ability to coordinate resourcing and scheduling an asset. Good working knowledge of Tariff and relevant legislation including rates, terms and conditions an asset. Intermediate level computer systems and related programs including Word, Excel and MS Outlook. Familiarity of FortisBC geography, technical terms and interdepartmental service level agreements an asset. Working knowledge of SAP, OID, CIS, ArcFM, & GTS or associated computer programs an asset. Working knowledge of Network Operations tools and equipment an asset. Advanced communication skills; both written and verbal. Proven decision making and customer service skills. Strong team building and relationship development skills. Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage a wide variety of tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and strict timelines.
