The City of Trail is seeking an exceptional individual to fill the position of Director of Parks, Recreation and Culture.

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the incumbent is responsible and accountable for managing, directing and providing leadership to the Parks and Recreation Department, with an annual operating budget closing in on $5 million and an annual capital budget averaging $4 million. This position serves on the City’s Administration and Management Team and acts as an advisor to City Council on parks and recreation matters. This position ensures that parks and recreation programs and services are delivered/implemented in an effective and efficient manner and meet and departmental & organizational strategic objectives and initiatives.

This is a senior exempt position within the organization requiring graduation from a recognized university with a degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or a related field and five years related parks and recreation experience, including experience in a leadership/administrative capacity and supplemented by business administration and other related courses.
