Reporting to the Sr. Managerial and Projects Accountant the Cost Analyst will support the 2024 KIVCET Turnaround and associated projects. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting in development of project and cost controls, cost and personpower reporting requirements and project audit program and administering through execution and closure.

Responsibilities:

Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures

Establish and lock in control budget combining approved appropriation requisitions and pre-approved work breakdown structure (WBS)

Apply judgement obtained through familiarity with project budget, industry metrics, dialogue with project coordinators and personal experience to evaluate, review and provide comfort / feedback on changes presented through contractor submitted proposals and change management control process

Working with Scheduler develop personpower reporting plan and status progress with actual and forecast to completion on weekly basis

Working with scheduler interpret performance indicators and reconcile to cost forecast WBS items

Provide recommendations on weekly (Execution) forecast adjustments

Evaluate and review contractor tracking sheets (Equipment, material, sub-contractors) and weekly cost reports

Produce weekly cost reports

Perform key cost audit tasks that follow pre-approved audit plan and provide recommendations based on findings

Assist in developing and reporting on key performance indicators (KPI’s) that demonstrate effective cost controls and other overall turnaround and Project KPI’s

Performs other related duties as required
Qualifications:
- Business Administration Diploma or equivalent
- Formal training or relevant project controls experience.
- High proficiency with Excel
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite of products
- Ability to gather, summarize and interpret technical information and communicate the output
- Effective communication skills including verbal, written and presentation skills
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-based environment, maintaining confidentiality
- Self starter and demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of construction industry and projects
- JD Edwards experience preferred
