Responsibilities Programming access rules, cardholder groups, and alarms for MRS and other applicable assets within the Genetec Security Centre platform Administering access cards for employees with MRS access Escorting contractors and employee into secure MRS locations Conducting monthly testing for MRS Windows patching of Genetec workstations and servers Preparing MRS access control testing reports within Genetec Security Centre platform Maintaining document control Assisting in maintenance and testing for MRS sites as required Supporting annual maintenance and testing of physical security systems Conducting field surveys and physical security inspections as required in support of risk assessments Assisting in troubleshooting minor security system errors, false-positives, anomalous behaviour as they arise, seeking assistance as needed. Coordinating corrective repairs when required Assisting in gathering and reporting relevant information during the annual self-certification process and any potential non-compliance related event. Liaising with various departments to gather information any current or upcoming security needs and/or enhancements Performing additional related duties, which do not affect the rating of the position.
Requirements High School graduation. Minimum 2 years’ directly related experience required Experience with Genetec Security Centre platform, or related applications, would be considered an asset. Knowledge of access control and alarm monitoring systems and panels. Knowledge of office systems planning and layout. Knowledge of computer system operations, environmental and peripherals Able to read and understand all operating procedures and instructions Able to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. Able to use initiative and independent judgment within established guidelines Able to use communication skills to respond to difficult or demanding situations, including negotiation and conflict resolution. Analytical, organizational, and written communication skills Intermediate level keyboarding skills including the ability to format correspondence, reports and charts Valid British Columbia driver’s license.
