Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Corporate Administration this position provides receptionist duties, and a range of clerical and secretarial support within the Administration Department of the Regional District.

When required, and in consultation with the Manager of Corporate Administration, this position also provides backup clerical and secretarial support to other RDKB Departments.


• Greeting the public in person or by phone and tending to their needs or referring them to the proper department. • Assisting with cash receipting and organizing invoices. • Processing incoming, and assist with processing outgoing mail. • Completing word processing and typing assignments. • Assisting the Manager of Corporate Administration with preparing both electronic and paper agendas and reports. • Assisting the Director of Corporate Administration in organizing meetings including public events such as open houses and training sessions.

• Maintain the District's paper filing system within the Administration & General Government Department. • Organize Board of Directors’ and staff’s attendance, travel arrangements and accommodations for conferences and other events. • Distribute information to RDKB residents via bulk mail. • Maintain the inventory of office stationary and supplies. • Other duties as may be assigned.


• High School graduation. • Secretarial training with at least three years’ experience in a similar setting. • Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) and desktop publishing. • Knowledge of Civic Web and Adobe Acrobat are an asset. • Ability to operate other common office equipment. • Good communication skills and a proven ability to work with the public
