Position Overview You’re passionate about the environment and devoted to ensuring that aquatic habitats are protected. Your sound knowledge of aquatic resource management and species-at-risk makes you an excellent fit for our role as Biologist – Aquatics.

In this role, you’ll act as our subject matter expert for aquatic resource management for our Electric and Gas operations and play a key role in developing appropriate controls regarding aquatic resource risks.

In year 1, you will: Work closely with our Operations and Environment teams to maintain and enhance current quality assurance programs related to fish entrainment, fish passage, species-at-risk, water quality, and specific environmental management programs. Advise on operational and project decisions to mitigate implications to regulatory, Indigenous, operational, and social stakeholders. Provide technical program support to determine corrective actions for studies, operations, or project plans. In year 2, you will: Build on your knowledge from your first year and continue to progress our existing programs. What it takes: A master’s degree in biology with a minimum of eight years of aquatic biology experience. A registered Professional Biologist designation. Thorough understanding of environmental risks, including knowledge of species-at-risk and aquatic ecosystem risks. Thorough Understanding of environmental risks for Electric Generation Operations General understanding of environmental risks for electric and gas transmission and distribution operations.
