Job Description

Based in beautiful Trail, BC, on the traditional territory of the Sinixt, Ktunaxa, Syilx and Secwepemc peoples, the Skills Centre is hiring a part-time (25.5 hours/week) Administrative Support person to start as soon as possible. The position pays $21/hr plus benefits. This position is based at the Skills Centre office. All Skills Centre employees have access to extensive training and supports.

Duties include: • Greet and assist visitors to the office and provides client service by responding to telephone, email and direct inquiries • Maintain and update Skills Centre’s on-line Job Board • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques • Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies • Carry out administrative duties such as booking appointments, filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.

Qualifications/Experience:

Completion of secondary education. Confident speaker and communicator. Experience working in complex teams to complete projects. Excellent organizational, planning and implementation skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Works respectfully in multi-cultural communities. Some admin or assistant experience. Some knowledge of office management systems and procedures. Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. Attention to detail and problem solving skills. Proficient in MS Office and databases.
