Position Summary

Bridges Out of Poverty is a new weekly support program in Trail expected to start in the fall of 2022. Through conversation a group of people across economic classes seeks to understand and improve attitudes about poverty and privilege. We are currently looking for two facilitator/mentors for this program that could take the required training in March/April, prior to a September start. Training takes place on Wednesday mornings starting March 2nd. The contract will be approximately 10 months in length.

Job Description

We are hoping that one of the paid positions will be filled by a person with living experience of poverty. The positions will be compensated as an honorarium at the Lower Columbia living wage rate ($18.15/hour) for the duration of the weekly three hour training this spring (6 weeks) and for the 5-hour a week commitment for the fall. Interested persons should have:

  • A stable home environment (be housed);
  • Time to commit to this project;
  • An ability to listen deeply and to engage others;
  • Experience as a facilitator;
  • Be connected in the community; and
  • Have a navigator mind-set or be willing to take training.
